tough like steak
I haven’t been to class in nearly a month, I have about 4 chapters to cover in all 5 of my classes before Thursday, I’m about $1500 in debt, I don’t have a job as of Saturday, and I have so many other household chores to do this week.
Things are tough all over. Tough like steak.
Mmm…steak.
Did I ever mention how I am a bad vegetarian?
So, umm, yeah, I’ve been trying to go not just vegetarian, but VEGAN for the longest time. I can handle substitute foods very well; I like sugar substitutes, soymilk, veggie burgers, veggie cheese, tofu, you name it as a replacement for meat, milk, and eggs, I eat it.
But I LOVE meat. I know anyone who is a vegan on the principal that eating meat or animal products is cruel to animals is cringing. But I really do love meat.
Meat is tasty. I won’t deny it. Put a plate of rare steak and a plate of vegan zucchini lasagna in front of me and I’ll almost always go for the burger, drooling as I practically inhale it.
I want to go vegan based on the health benefits and the sustainability (as far as eco thinking is concerned) offered by eating only plants.
But everywhere I turn, there are animals. DELICIOUS animals, in various delicious forms. My family practically eats nothing but meat, so they’re absolutely no help.
I can eat all sorts of meat and animal-product substitutes, but I have no problem with the idea of personally going into the woods, slaying and gutting a cute whitetail deer, taking it to a butcher, and making a roast out of it.
I’m the worst vegetarian ever. (●´・△・`)はぁ〜

top?
Eww, rare steak :O I’ve never been a huge meat fan so being vegetarian wasn’t a huge problem for me. About a week ago, I went fully vegan and so far so good. Cheese will probably be the toughest thing to give up, but soy cheese isn’t that terrible actually, it’s just hard to find from a small town
Weirdly enough, I just ate vegan zucchini lasagna :O
You’re lucky. I love meat, so it’s difficult for me.
Soy cheese is really good! And the flavors are pretty close. I was surprised! But it is really hard to find in small towns. I had to go to the city to find more than one flavor.
Really? I love it.
