…so, lately I haven’t been online.
It just so happens that most of my life has fallen apart due to circumstances completely out of my control, all in the span of a DAY. Nothing is as it was promised it would be, and things are getting really difficult for me.
However, instead of sitting around moping, I’ve been out taking charge. I got a job1 , I took care of things at college, and I took care of things around the house. I GOT. IT. DONE.
I can’t let my entire livelihood and future rest in my parents’ hands anymore. It’s clear that I’m more than capable of doing almost everything myself, and it’s obvious that I should. I can no longer stand to be completely dependent2.
As for what this means for my Internet time, I’ll just have to wait and see. The time I spend on the Internet weekly has been dropping exponentially since 20063, so I don’t know…
At least I didn’t get depressed and ten kinds of whiny when things went wrong this time.
Idiocy Explained:
- It doesn’t pay very well at all, but I know my boss- I’m next-door neighbors with her parents and she’s really nice, and they provide training and work with college students, and it’s not as hard as it could be if I worked at another place, and it’s better than Wendys, and it’ll look much better on my resume. [↩]
- and my mother can no longer stand to have to do anything for me other than keep the lights on [↩]
- I used to be on the Internet every night, 7 nights a week, for 4 or 5 hours, plus I’d spend all of Saturday and Sunday on, so I’ve went from about 50 hours a week to 30 in 2007, to about 5 or less right now, and most of that is spent in a one-day 4 hour catch-up period [↩]
